A Cleaner Caption and File Handoff

2026-09-09

A finished video is only one part of a useful handoff. The person receiving it also needs to know which version is final, what caption belongs with it, and which uses were agreed.

Identify the Final Version

Use readable file names with a campaign name, deliverable number, and version. Keep earlier edits separate from approved exports. If you deliver both captioned and clean versions, label them clearly rather than relying on a reviewer to inspect every file.

Keep Captions Editable

Provide the caption as text, not only as part of a screenshot. Include any agreed tags, links, and disclosure wording for review. Separate optional suggestions from required copy. Check product names and links before handoff, and identify anything that still needs confirmation.

Add a Short Delivery Note

List the files, their intended use, and outstanding questions. Include relevant usage dates and publishing responsibilities from the agreed scope. Do not attach passwords or account codes. Where access is needed, use the relevant platform's permission controls.

Verify Access

Open the shared links from an appropriate recipient account and check that the files can be downloaded. Confirm the delivery has been received, but do not treat receipt as creative approval. A small amount of handoff discipline prevents avoidable delays and keeps the final review focused on content quality.
